Khajuraho

We've got to get the ratings up on this channel because surveys are showing people are tiring of architecture shots. Today we offer some racy r-rated content and some action driving videos!

The Khajuraho Hindu temples are very interesting. I'd seen photos of temples like this but didn't know what the carvings were like. These temples feature carvings from the Karma Sutra to depict a kind of worldly desire phase before reaching higher enlightenment phases. This all looks pretty good but I think one would have to wear some kind of full body exposure suit in this day and age to participate in this kind of thing at a group level. I ran into some Osho followers performing a ritual. Maybe they had it right all along.

Next stop was an active Jain Temple. To me this looks like kind of a combination of Hinduism and Buddhism which I think I could really get behind. The monks roam around the country in groups nude. They say "no dress and no address". They look really happy.

Then there was a 6-hour drive to Prayagraj. You're really missing out here if you don't sit in the front seat and watch all the action. The tourist cab is the fastest vehicle on the road and passes everyone. There is a lot of activity on the road including stray cows, dogs, pedestrians, little cabs, bicycles, motorcycles, trucks of all kinds, other cars, etc. The passing was pretty intense but I would say the driver only made maybe one truly unsafe maneuver in the 6 hours. I think that the 101 corridor north of San Francisco is actually more dangerous. It was a lot of fun and I got a few videos but they don't totally do the experience justice.
